Estonia\u2019s Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications has approved the conditions for a new \u20ac10 million support measure aimed at helping small and medium-sized enterprises take practical steps towards digitalisation. The support is designed to help companies introduce business software, automate internal processes and develop data-driven services that reduce administrative work and improve productivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The measure reflects Estonia\u2019s wider ambition to move towards a real-time economy, where data can move automatically between companies and the public sector instead of being entered and reported manually. This shift is expected to reduce bureaucracy, make everyday business operations more efficient and help companies make better use of digital tools. For smaller companies in particular, the support can provide a practical way to start modernising processes without carrying the full development cost alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Companies will be able to apply for smaller grants of up to \u20ac5,000 for adopting suitable business software or integrating existing systems. More complex projects, including process automation, real-time data exchange, software development and data-based service design, may receive support of up to \u20ac150,000. This creates opportunities both for companies taking their first steps in digitalisation and for those planning more advanced development projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Applications will be managed by the Estonian Business and Innovation Agency through the e-support environment. Detailed application conditions and guidance will be published on the agency\u2019s website. The initiative will be accompanied by a digitalisation training programme for SME managers, helping companies better understand how to plan and implement digital change in practice.
